Phenomenal series. A British The Wire. Can’t believe this show slid under the radar on me. Last season seems to be from 2013. There are only two seasons with four episodes a pop but they manage to get so much depth of character out of that abbreviation without getting lost in a strong narrative. Like The Wire, it shows real lives in the bottom; how people live their lives when they start there and don’t have any choice. It shows real human beings, not middle America caricatures (that orange asshole’s, “The Blacks”). In that successful portrayal you get more empathy for people just trying to deal with their everyday obstacles than any celebrity cause campaign to do some dumb shit like stop the violence. Sit down, bitch. Shut up. Watch this show. The go back to the Hills and don’t ever try to pretend like you street.
